I need help with a physics lab project...

Okay, tomorrow we have a weird lab we have to do... here is what it is

We are given 26 film canisters... the little black ones with the grey cap labeled A-Z... each of them have a random ammount of pennies in them, we are supposed to find out how many penny's are in each canister without opening them... the only tool given is the balance. I kinda have this figured out, and thought it would be easiest if I could just find a canister and weigh one now and use that to calculate how many penny's are in each canister... out of the 26 canisters there is one that only has one penny, thats the one I'll have to weigh to find the weight of a penny. Unfortunately I dont have a film canister around here anywhere... could anyone help me out... or give some suggestions, anything at all will help :) THanks! Our science teacher is no help haha..

thanks
