You don't "convert" the data to NMEA, it's provided by the GPS receiver, you'll need to set the Asus to provide the NMEA data.
The default on most receivers is NMEA, if you have BT on your pc, you can use SirfDemo to access it and do a factory reset. There's also programs available for the ppc that will do the same thing.
