I originally wanted to buy an X50v around January. I saw a few good deals in March (around $320). I didn't actually buy my Axim until early August.

I got the Axim X50v, Rhinoskin case, extra battery and a two year extended warrenty all for about $280. I used to lurk around the "hardware deal" forum quite a bit.

What finally did it for me was some very nice Aximsite member posted how to use a certain coupon, and then buy another coupon off of Ebay. Needless to say, it worked out great. Just wait around for a bit. The deals seem to be coming about every two to three weeks now. Just hang in there.

By the way, I like my Axim, I just don't love it. It does everything I ask of it, but for some reason, i'm still wanting for more. Maybe I'll get a GPS unit or start playing some games. I'm very, very satisfied with Pocket Skype (VoIP), Betaplayer for videos, using my Axim as an MP3 player and one new use I didn't anticipate.

There is a website called "Orb." I installed it on my home pc and now I can stream everything from that pc to my Axim. So I can watch any video on my PC with my Axim, no matter where I am. I find that pretty cool for a free service. Also, because my PC has a TV tuner card, I can watch live tv on my Axim (Great on Saturdays when the Wisconsin Badgers are playing and I'm at work.)

My advice? Wait around a few weeks and you'll be able to buy an X50v with a few extras for around $270.
