As I understand it... the card reader is totally separate from the X5 cradle. You connect the card reader to the USB 2.0 port, load your CF or SD card in the reader, do a file transfer, and then put the CF/SD card back in the X5.

Presto? Fast movie transfers?
That is correct. I transfer movies all the time and I would say a 500MB movie taks about 40-50 seconds. A much better deal. Good Luck~
