I wrote to the developer of Odyssey about my above two issues, and received a reply today:

Thanx for leting us know about the link. It's been fixed after it had been accidently changed to html during a site update.
About the lives issue: in Odyssey you only have 1 life, that is correct (but you have a lot of energy in that 1 life). The indicator on the bottow left are the number of Smart Bombs you have left.
