Thanks for trying to help Raynne413, but I found the solution to my trouble in another post (I should've looked before I posted).
It turns out the problem is that I had reassigned the direction keys, and the program doesn't support that correctly. I had to selct 'uninstall' from the file menu, which put everything back to default.
