I think the best phone maker has a bit to do also with the carrier. I have Verizon, and I've read in message boards, then later confirmed from actual experience that the Motorolas on Verizon get excellent coverage just about anywhere in the United States. I get much better coverage with the Moto than I got with a previous LG. Now, there are some places in the country, I've read, where Verizon isn't so hot and other carriers are. I haven't found these places yet, but I don't doubt that they exist.

On the other hand, T-Mobile and Cingular pretty much sell their phones will full bluetooth profiles enabled. My Verizon Moto, for example, won't allow out-of-the-box bluetooth sync with the handheld. For my personal purposes, I only wanted it for wireless dial-up networking, and it works well for that. Also, I can transfer files betwen the devices using the TransFlash card, which is nice.

See, I think the Sony phones are great, but they'd never get my vote because there aren't any on the Verizon network.

Also, I don't have to pay extra for data access using Verizon's Minutes of Use 1x network.

I know there were some posters from Europe. I apologize for wasting this space for a largely unapplicable topic for you.
