Thank you and yes I tried it, the trial version anyway, and it also doesn't play nice with JapPack. I sort of expected it because someone else on Brighthand (I think) reported this incompatibility also. Sigh.

I've been digging for alternatives and seemingly the most promising one is Dashboard perhaps, and it's not too expensive but it doesn't seem to have Diary's functionality...no contacts or notes, just calendar/tasks. :(
