Is your Sandisk an SD card or a CF card? cuz if it's an SD card and it says Made in Taiwan or Made in China on the back, it probably is going south.
hmm....the card isn't locked, right?
A good policy to follow on SD cards for the Axim--don't buy it if it doesn't say "Made in Japan" on the back, because otherwise the chances are pretty good that it's going to crash on you sooner (as soon as a few minutes/hours) or later (as late as several months).
There is a remedy that sometimes works and fixes the problem completely: use some kind of formatting program and reformat the card to FAT32. FAT32, and some cluster size i don't remember...you can find it if you do a search though.
If the card still has problems, get it replaced, sell the replacement, and buy a different brand, preferably simpletech, if you can afford it. Or you can take your chances with Lexar, whose "Made in Japan" cards are very good and i speculate that the odds of getting card made in Japan from Lexar is about 85% or better. Viking is hit and miss...I'm starting to see a few more complaints. Lexar's 256 MB SD cards are among the cheapest out there right now...
