I've moved on to other games for now. I've played this at expert level repeatedly and the AI is easily crushed. And I'm no strategic genuis by any means. Hope the patch improves the AI, but I'm not hopeful.

Did you play with all 4 computer opponents in the smallest galaxy (smaller means fewer resources and so more competition)? I was going to, but then Pocket Plus wiped out my BIS, and upon re-installing everything, I decided not to re-install P4kAD until an update comes out.
Now my WM5 cd comes out, and I've done another complete re-install :) .

Yeah, well... it seems they're releasing software with it still not even out of the alpha/beta stage. At the very least, they should provide a demo. (sigh...
).
