This may sound dumb, but I just upgraded to WM5, and had the slow problems everyone else is having. But as I was setting things up the way I want them, I turned OFF the IR "always receive" and now things seem to be running a little bit faster. Still not as fast as 2003se, but better none the less. This may have nothing in the world to do with anything, but thought it was worth mentioning. Try it and see how different things are for you.
