Currently no option available to download to update current installation - do we need to purchase it again - I tried logging into my account and accessing the usual are for downloading updates but this just returns me to the main site which has no trial version available that I could download to upgrade - could it be posted here as a zip file?

You just need to login to your account and go to your order history (or login to your order) and download from there.
This way you'll get the latest full version.
