I think you are talking about different things. On the X51v, under Start, Settings, Power, Power Button (tab) is an option to
really power off the device (such that appointments, alarms, etc. will not 'wake up' the device and it uses no power). This was not an option before WM5 because power always had to be supplied to ROM to keep from doing a hard reset.
If you are looking for what I think, try
psShutXP. It works with WM5.
