impression that once you have a PPC, and want to connect to the internet, that it just "connects". The X5 requires a wifi card, like the Dell Truemobile 1180 CF 802.11b card, (~$25 on ebay) or similar in order to connect to wifi spots, like Starbucks, Panera Bread, Borders, libraries, or your home etc. If you live in NYC or someplace where wifi is rampant, almost everywhere public seems to be a connection. You can also get a cheap (~$15) CF modem and if you have an ISP with dial up or AOL, then you can dial in and get email or the internet. If you can't connect at home, you probably have the XP Firewall up and blocking connection. You can also view preloaded web pages for news, weather, finance, sports etc by subscribing (free) to Avantgo (
www.avantgo.com) and sync everyday with your desktop puter to update the web pages to view at your leisure.
