Like I posted...try setting categories. Try a couple contacts with this and see if it works for you.
Enter the contact in Outlook and synchronize it.
Go into Contacts on your Axim, find the contact, open it, tap Edit, and scroll down to Categories.
Set a Category for this contact (e.g. Personal)
Now go back to Activesync on your PC, click on Tools > Options > Contacts > Settings. In here are sync settings. Click on "Synchronize only those contacts in the following selected categories" and uncheck "Personal".
Now any Contacts marked as Personal should no longer sync. Delete the contact from Outlook. In theory, the Contact should now stay on the Axim since you've categorized it as 'Personal' and that category no longer syncs.
