Enter the contact in Outlook and synchronize it.
Go into Contacts on your Axim, find the contact, open it, tap Edit, and scroll down to Categories.
Set a Category for this contact (e.g. Personal)
Now go back to Activesync on your PC, click on Tools > Options > Contacts > Settings. In here are sync settings. Click on "Synchronize only those contacts in the following selected categories" and uncheck "Personal".
Now any Contacts marked as Personal should no longer sync. Delete the contact from Outlook. In theory, the Contact should now stay on the Axim since you've categorized it as 'Personal' and that category no longer syncs.

This might work. I'll try it. BUT, when I enter a new contactby keyboard on the desktop, I guess I would NOT categorize it as Personal or it then won't sync to the PPC. After I enter it without any category, then, supposedly, it would sync to the Axim as a general entry. Then I could disconnect the Axim, and then ON THE AXIM, recategorize the entry as "Personal" and get it on the same list as the others......
I'll try that with some dummy samples and let you know if it works.......Thanks..........
