If you are a teen (Like me) or an adult that has children, you might remember this game that came out in chex cerial boxes in 1996. It was called Chex Quest, and was a doom clone that delt with zapping slime monsters back to where they came from, 100% blood and gore free! I never got this game working until a few years ago on my old IBM Eduquest machine, and while it may sound stupid, it is actually still fun to play! Yesterday, I found out how to get this game running on an Axim.
First, go to
http://home.freeuk.com/gamefreaks/pql/gfDoom.htm and download gfdoom (arm version at the bottom).
Next, go to google and search for a download of Chex Quest. (Im not sure if I am allowed to post a link by forum rules....)
Then, when you unzip the Chex Quest file, you will see a file with a .wad extention. Make a copy of it, and rename the copy DOOM.wad.
Finally, Unzip the gfdoom file to a place on your computer, paste your new DOOM.wad into that directory, and then copy/paste the entire directory to somewhere in your handheld.
To run it, load gfDoom launcher (the one with a blue icon), select DOOM.wad, change any other settings you want, and click "Launch gfDOOM". Note: Leave the PWAD space blank.
This works most of the time, and proves that I have WAY too much free time in the summer.
