I just installed WM5 to my Axim 50v and then upgraded AS to 4.0.

I have the same connection problems that others have had regarding the fireall. My firewall is Kaspersky Anti-Hacker.

But I have also had problems when I turn off my firewall. This allows AS to continue, but as soon as the little popup notice saying it is retrieving settings comes up, the computer crashes. I installed AS 4.0 on my other computer and have the same crashing problem.

I upgraded 4.0 to 4.1. This did NOT solve the crashing problem. But what it did do, was allow me to connect to AS through Bluetooth. But once again, if I turn off the firewall, as soon as AS starts to actively syncronize, blue screen crash. I find this especially odd as most other people have said that it was the USB drivers causing the problems. I am assuming that a bluetooth connection does not involve USB drivers.

Connecting with Bluetooth has allowed me to put the majority of my programs back on the pda. This has been a hidden blessing of the firewall problem becasue I can establish an ActiveSync connection, and the firewall prevents the syncronization from proceeding which crashes the computer.

I tried turing off all of the syncronization options- email, claendar, etc. This did not help. It would not let me turn off the mobile favorites sectrion though.

Any suggestions for addressing the blue screen crashes?
