i like the x50v as shipped with the Windows Mobile 2003se. Many people are having compatability and performance problems with Windows Mobile 5. However, it depends on the user. If you stress battery life, consider the x51v. If you want performance and compatability, choose the unupgraded x50v also, if your are the type who forgets to charge up, get the x51v because if you run out of battery, it will not be equivilent to a hard reset, only a soft reset. If you run out of battery on 2003SE, you will have a hard reset. In addition, 2003SE drains battery even if you do not turn it on. So, it requires constant power, if you plan on keeping it there for a while like more than 1.5 weeks. Windows Moblile 5 allows you to completely turn it off instead of just putting it to sleep. That, naturally, takes more time to boot, but doesnot drain battery while off.
Again, read some reviews and decide which is better for you.
