Pocket Mechanic will analyze a memory cards to tell you what the fragmentation is and if there is any point in defragging. There very rarely is. Fragmentation is almost always 0.00. You can also use a defragger if you want to change the FAT from 16 to 32 or vice versa.

Pocket Mechanic can be installed on a memory card or in BIS and will work fine. So can MemMaid.
Defragmenting has no effect on solid state memory because there is no seek time - so it doesn't matter if the file are defragmented. Also Defragmenting will not protect you from viruses... or at least I can't see how it would.

You should always format your memory cards when you first get them. Typically use FAT32 but other formats can be used too - see my tutorial.

I use MemMaid to look after my X50v. Seems to look after everything nicely - although I don't use all the advanced features - mainly just the cleanup. I would recommend you buy a card reader and use you PC to look after the flash memory cards using windows.

Resco has many nice utilities. I use Resco File Explorer.

Other than see the Aximsite moto -> Backup, Backup, Backup.

Cheers
