Wasn't Bard's Tale also a NES game? I played it on my PPC with MorphGear. I am not sure how it compares as I have not played that game, but I have found it really interesting and fun. The movement is done with the stylus. You start in one town, and to move around to other towns/areas you use the map, and mark your destination. You turn the calender to make the days pass, and as they pass you move towards your destination. You use the binoculars to look around and find items or monsters to fight. Once you get enough money, you can also buy a metal detector to search for metal items. You are a mutant, and are in the process of defeating Justice, which is an organization that is trying to wipe out all mutants. You do quests in order to make money to buy better armor/weapons and sometimes ammo. You also have to buy food and water. The quests tend to include escorting people to other towns, and fighting the people that are trying to kill them. Killing people for other people, and carrying messages back and forth. Among other things. The developer of the game is in the process of enlarging the map and creating new weapons and armor.
