Hello out there! I just updated my X50v to WM5 and I cannot get my desktop computer to see the Axim correctly now. That is why (I think) I can't get ActiveSync to see it, the problem is NOT with ActriveSync but rather with Dell's USB driver for the new WM5 (?). I have tried all versions of AS, from 4.0 down to 3.6 and I get the same little quirk: Whenever I now connect the Axim with WM50 to the desktop, the System Tray on the lower right doesn't even start the Active Sync "circle of arrows", it comes up with the "two cpu screens with the floating yellow dots" as though I was trying to connect to a network wirelessly! Control Panel>System>Device Manager does show a "Windows mobile device" under the Network Adapters section but it wasn't that when the Axim was first connected. When I connected for the first time after installing any Active Sync I watched the progress of the Device Manager and it did note the new device as a Dell PPC but after a few seconds it called the device a Windows Mobile Device. I don't know if this really points anything out though, just relaying what I saw. Too Bad! I had no trouble when I was still using WM 2003. Now I can't get any updates to the Axim unless somehow AS or the USB can be fixed to "see" the device with WM 05 properly.
