I did this yesterday. I wasn't having any speed issues though. What it did for me was increase the battery life when in standby. Before I lost 40% battery in 8hrs. Last night I lost 1% in 6hrs. Too early to tell yet, but I have not had any trouble getting the X51v to turn on since.
