Got Connected finally!
I read an Aximsite thread that had a tip that worked. Life is better, but I still have a road ahead. With:
1. PDA cable connected and AS 4.0 trying to connect,
2. Brought up "Network Connections" (can be done from the Control Panel or lower righthand icon if showing)
3. Right clicked on the item in the list that is the PDA (name can vary from PC to PC)and then Properties.
4. In the properties list, I unchecked the QoS Packet Scheduler.
5. I also had to disable the firewall protection by clicking the Advanced tab (in the above Properties box)and unchecking or disabling the firewall protection. You may or may not have to do this, but I did. I also had to repeat this routine on subsequent connections or after reboots (I don't remember).
This is a pain, but I am making progress. I have to figure out how to load all my programs. The Add/Remove programs option in AS4.0 opens the window, but it just sits there. When I close it, Windows tells me that the program is not responding. It could be that there are no programs out there for it to find. In the confusion of installing WM05, I answered yes to deleting the sync file when I should have answered NO. So, I don't know how to use the old sync files at this point. I'll try to reload the programs from the PC and get them on my PDA and see if they run at all. My significant ones are Franklin Planner 2003 and DeLorme Street Atlas 2006 for Handhelds. I also have a DeLorme Blue Tracker GPS. These ran well under WM03. DeLorme was slow at times with big size cut maps. DeLorme or WM03 also had trouble with the list of waypoints and log files within the program. The names of these were off by one actual file when accessed within the program.
