Well I too have played it at least a dozen times.
In traditional Pyramid the King can be taken off by himself. In fact here are the cards that match for 13.
Ace and Queen
2 and Jack
3 and 10
4 and 9
5 and 8
6 and 7
King by himself
But in this version of it which is based off of 14 (and it states that in the instructions) the card pairs are
Ace and King
2 and Queen
3 and Jack
4 and 10
5 and 9
6 and 8
7 and 7
Here is the exact wording of the in game description:
"Match up cards in the stock with cards in the pyramid to make pairs that total the number 14."
Like I said above, the game is beautiful (which is one of the reasons I have kept it on my Axim -- to show it off). This is a great example of what solitaire games SHOULD look like, I hope that we see more games like this and less of the ones like the solitaire that comes on the PPC.
With that said though, I have to still go with King Sol for gameplay. Perhaps someday there will be a solitaire with the gameplay of KingSol and the beauty of GameBox Solitaire...one cand only hope.
