Since I upgraded to WM5 my Axim's been messed too. I have the Axim X50V (624mhz, I dunno if there's other models at different speeds like the X30) and I have all programs closed, error reporting turned off, WiFi and BT turned off, and it still runs at full processor speed when I turn it on the "auto" setting. One thing that REALLY annoys me is that it randomly closes Monopoly when I'm playing it. It shouldn't be because of low memory, I wouldn't think anyways...that's the only 3rd party app I have installed on it.
