Update: Dell phoned me on Friday to check they had the correct delivery address for my WM5 CD. The courier attempted a delivery on the previous Monday but the package was ultimately returned to Dell marked "delivery futile".
The work address was in fact correct, and the Dell guy I spoke with -- actually an Aussie, or an Indian who maybe watches
Neighbours and
Home and Away on Mumbai TV and has perfected the Strine accent -- said this message generally means there was no-one at the address. I work for a major US company in Australia and the office is manned
at the very least between 7 am and 6 pm, so it's doubtful no-one was around. Perhaps the courier simply couldn't be arsed driving all the way out to Hallam (outer south eastern suburb of Melbourne). Those familiar with Australian courier companies will appreciate the distinct probablility of this. There are some very good ones and there's also dross...
Dell said the delivery would now happen on Monday 21st November.
Unfortunately, the WM5 upgrade is moot for me anyway; I am in Hong Kong in December and January and for this trip I
must have
MapKing on my Axim. However the developer has just confirmed that it will
not work with WM5 on an X50v. Bugger. That looks like I don't do the OS upgrade until mid-January when I get back to Melbourne. Oh well.
