Just perform a regular backup, upon completion you move the backup file from your SD card to your PC. The file xfer w/ActiceSync4.1 is quick.
Since WM5 allows you to run out of power and no lost of data. You don't need the backup file on the storage card. Unless you have a sudden hard-reset...when you are on the road and no access to your PC.
Actually, you can use Microsoft FolderShare ( www.foldershare.com) to download the backup file from your PC to your Axim if you can find a WiFi hotspot.
