This sort of thing had been reported to happen on the other two ppc that have "built-in" storage, the ipaq and the hp 56x series. I personally never had it happen, but the one common item that most have found with it is that if people were actively using the storage area to add and remove applications that the process sometimes triggered the loss of the storage area.

In any event, in all reported cases, a hard reset did not fix the problem. The data was lost and the unit had to be sent back to the manufacturer to be replaced.

I would have to surmize that since this is now also occuring with the Dell that there mus be some problem that hasn't been found yet in the OS that is causing this. I has to be more than just a coincedence that it is happening all all of the devices that offer additional storage.

The only thing that I use by built in storage for is backing up my data. I don't put any applications into my area, for fear of losing it. I also copy off my backups from the built in area every so often just in case.
