I have great success with Power DVD versin 4.0 from Cyberlink to view my DVD-RW disks made with a Phillips Recorder hooked up to my satellite dish.
Then to record these DVDs to *.avi to view on the Pocket PC I use Pocket DVD ver 3.4 by pqdvd.com, works really well for X51v and X50v at 640 x 480, change resolution to the best you can to still fit on your SD or CF card. Lots of threads on this site for recording to AVI format. Use search tool upper left of screen.
