I just relaized that Dell has a CF serial interface on their website for $49 - It's just that you will have to build an RS232 level shifter for it because it's normally used with the Pharos GPS-360 module.

Now, I'm not saying this provides all the EIA RS232 signals, but it does provide 3v TTL Rx & Tx lines, so I bought one to play with. Will let everyone know how it works.
