Dunno; haven't tested because of the small memory consumption (30-40k) of the installed midlets. There's most surely a way of hacking them to a storage card (even with hexediting IBM J9).

I don't think so - all these three MIDP IRC apps should work OK fullscreen. I think it's a J9 problem.
If you can't make them work, let me know and I elaborate a bit on using CrEme to run midlets.
