what I do while listening to music to minimize battery usage:
1. set processor to lowest setting.
2. turn down brightness of screen to 1 click up.
3. use an SD card rather than my Microdrive.
4. make sure there are no other apps running in the background(including WisBar)
5. use a player that has an option to automatically shut off the screen in a given amount of seconds.
It may seem like alot to do for listening to music, but I only do this when traveling. Set this way i get no less than 8 hours playtime.
Otherwise, with everything normal, I get 3-4 hours of play.
