If I touch it does nothing, or it will not work yet if I touch it the key board feature will come on and off.. After a few soft resets or maybe I turn it off and on a few times it starts working correctly.

I have what appears to be the same problem. The condition is erratic. I've had my X5 for over a year and the problem just started this week. I havent installed any new programs lately and do not have a screen protector. I hope someone can come up with a remedy.
