I've had the x30 for several months now and I can't use it as a daily solution, it's just too big and bulky. I've decided to use the x just for GPS navigation.

My first issue is everytime the x dies (which is too frequently) and I want to sync it with my PC I need to rename it. I put the X in the cradle and it asks me to name it. First I used Axim. After it died i tried to use Axim again it said it was already in use and to use a new name.

1. why does it keep on doing that, doesn't it recognize the unit as one in the same?

The next issue is I am going on vacation...I am using the x for GPS to the airport then I will leave the x in the car while I am away. My x doesnt last 4 days off, so I know it wont work when I get back in 3 weeks...when I plug it back into the car port the GPS software wont be installed...is there a freeware backup/restore program that will run off a SD card and that I can restore the GPS software?
