it's cuz even though your Axim's cradle is a USB interface - the connector that connects the Axim to the cradle (or cable) is a proprietery serial interface, so it's much slower than USB - and that's where the bottleneck lies.

in other words, you're not actually using USB speeds ;) yes card readers are much faster, and your 90MB file would take 60 seconds to copy over (in theory, not in practice). so expect about 3 minutes or less i would say.
