Yes, version makes a difference.
Outlook 2000 only had the holidays built in through 2002, though in late Jan. 2003, M$ released a little update that added them up through 2007.
Outlook 2002 only goes up through 2005 according the their Knowledge base. Theoretically, sometime in Jan. of next year they'll release a similar update for OL2002 that pushes the holidays through to 2009.
Dunno how far out OL2003 goes at this point. How far did you look?
Personally, I think its just another subtle way for M$ to upsell people on new versions of the app. Especially considering how many US holidays fall on a set date (like New Years day or the Fourthof July) or on a predictable pattern that once told to start adding them, Outlook could easily add for the next millenium much less the next 10 years.
