The main improvement of WM5 is indeed the memory management, plus there are a lot of 'under the hood' improvements. I'm no expert but I think that you could consider the PocketPC2003 -> WM5 upgrade in the same league as windows 98 -> XP. At first there were very few obvious improvements, however the design philosophy behind XP it was quite a bit better. Also of course you have newer versions of things like outlook, msn, transcriber etc which should perform better.
I can agree with your assessments. Plus, the obvious advantage that WM5 is the platform of the future, the one for which future software will be written.

Yeah, I suppose that at some point I will roll my x50v back up to WM5 or, more likely, spring for a new native WM5 model.
