Refurbs are the ones that get return for various reasons. Or when you exchange one out under warranty and its something easy to fix, dell will fix it and sell it. The Ax you buy refurb could be one or the other, you have no way to tell. I doubt the Refurbs will have 2003 on it for a while till they start getting exchanges on them for various reasons. This is also why some refurbs still have the 250 processor. Luck of the draw, all the way around
