Well, Fair Use generates around a 5 gig file containing all the rip information and one AVI file. Keep in mind, once it's done encoding the DVD into that AVI file, you can delete all the excess files and simply keep the one AVI file.
As for the final output file, the AVI itself...that's completely up to you for size. You can set it to output to whatever size you wish...it's simply a matter of how much quality you want in the video.
I've been using 100MB/for every 30 minutes as I've seen suggested on this site...and the end product looks terrific! I've watched War of the Worlds and Matrix Revolutions..which contain a fair amount of FX...and could see no issues in the least. You could go lower on size...but I haven't tried it thus far to comment on how much quality you would retain.

I have a 4GB CF card (just got here) so file size isn't a big deal. ~300MB a movie would probably be best. What resolution do you encode to?
