Need to include Providers name if you dare
Since some Service Providers have had the manufacturer modify the phone’s firmware to block features you should identify the phone model, phone service provider and PDA model. Some of these Posts have done that. Also be aware that some Providers specifically prohibit using some or all of their data services when using your phone as a modem for another device, PDA or Computer (see your TOS). In those cases they expect the phone’s browser to be the only legitimate Internet access. Some customers have been charged big bucks when caught by their Provider.
I use Verizon 1X 14.4 Kb internet service with the phone connected to my computer. I use the Verizon Internet service (#777) or ten digit dial-up to my ISP. I use a USB cable from the phone to the computer. The phone is a Samsung 650V. The Internet access costs $5 per month and uses my minutes so the unlimited night and weekend minutes get used a lot. I can then connect my X50 to the computer via BT or USB to access the Internet.
