If it comes out in January or tommorrow I'll be all the happier but just as long as its a proper update.

I just got my X51v unit yesterday and updated the ROM to A04 as well as apply the tweaks recommended by the fine users(Beta testers? :) ) of AximSite.

Oh and another thing, I really wont jump the gun on A05 until I actually see an official wide release to all customers from Dell. So any posts or claims of people having an A05 on their system and apparently not doing what it should be doing just wont fly with me. Id rather see it for myself.

Dont get me wrong Im not accusing anyone of lying or creating false impressions. I rather come to grips with the reality of whatever it is when its widely available to the masses.

For now all I can hope for is that Dell is working on fixing plenty of the current issues and that when it is finally released A05 will be a good update.
You shouldn't apologize for being doubtful. I received my replacement x51 in the mail on Tuesday and it has the A05 rom update already on it, so it should be coming soon. That being said, it didn't fix anything. I still had the power on issue that I had before. I never had the SD/CF card issue, so I don't know whether that is fixed or not, nor did I have the Active Sync issue. I called Dell the next day, and they may be able to send me an X50 with WM2003 (my wife has one and it runs like a watch). They called last night and said that they have a tremendous amount of calls to process (no surprise) but in the mean time they asked me to turn off error reporting and see how that goes. So far, So good, I was able to turn it back on this morning without a soft reset. We'll see.
