To completely close a program and not just minimize it you can do the following.
You have to use the keyboard and while the program is open hit "ctrl" then the letter "Q" and the program will close completely.

Oh, yeah I remember this too well and still works well. Just not with a few apps like
Start->Help. For some reason it just doesn't work with help.
I saw this post that dates back in April 19, 2003 on the
Coolest Axim Tricks? thread. ;) and you don't have to install or purchase another program because it's already there.
