Actually since the new WM 5.0 was announced, one of the biggest feature was that from now on, we CAN upgrade OSes as Microsoft pushes them out. Microsoft took that ability from the manufacturers because so many people we unsatisfied with the manufacturers upgrade policies. Also, now that the core of every device is similiar, it'll be more like a PC upgrade and we should expect a more and more unified OS as time goes.

Do you have a link to that info? I'm not trying to be rude; I can imagine after WM5 Microsoft would want to yank things back in-house.
I'd imagine there'll be a lot of heartbreak until things are smoothed over (between drivers and bloat, it should be entertaining ... "This thing is a memory hog, and 4 of the accessories I have aren't supported. I need more drivers and less wasted space!"). :bang:
