Bobsf40 - the problem there's that the 1950's a piece of junk, and doesn't have enough RAM for WM5, and ActiveSync takes up what's left. :D The SD card issue may be related to the RAM problem, since WM5 tries to unload things it doesn't need to recover system RAM... and the DLLs which handle that SD slot may become a casualty of that lack of RAM. After all, it only has 32MB of RAM, and WM5 alone takes up 14-16MB of it.... and then you've got the GWES.exe cache, which continues to take up more RAM, until you're left with 10-11MB on start - and it only goes down from there.

I haven't seen as many complaints about disappearing slots on the 2790/2490 series; just on the upgraded 2750s/2410's - I suspect that Dell buggered up something in their WM5 implementation, since an hx2490 on startup with no Today PAnel software gets about 45MB of RAM free at start, and the Axim x51 gets maybe 40MB from what I recall.

If they do an upgrade, Microsoft that is, I suspect this will be more in the line of a Win98SE release than a Windows XP-style one; a major bugfix disguised as a new OS.
