From what I have read and worked with, you can't change the colors. WM5 seems to pull these colors from the theme that you load from the default area (My Documents folder). It gets more interesting when you use a theme switcher,like ThemeMaster. It loads the theme, but the top and bottom stay the same as the last theme you loaded manually through the settings screen.
I think it's something we will have to live with.
