I went through something similar. My IT department upgraded to exchange enterprise server (I think that's right) and now I sync with the server. I think they have to turn Outlook Mobil Access on. You'll need the address of the server. For me, it was the same as the URL and password I used to access the server through the WWW.

If that doesn't work, you can ask the IT dept. if you have POP3 access. If you do, you can set up your Pocket Outlook to access the exchange server via POP3. This won't sync your calendar or contacts, but you'll get email.
