I posted this previously re the "Drained Battery" questions however I believe it will also resolve your question.
I think more people would set up their Axim power button this way except that it is easy to miss the Power Button Tab because you have to right scroll to see it. Hope this helps!
"I think the best cure for Battery Drain is to program the Power Button to "Full Power Off".
Settings--> System Tab -->Power --> Power Button Tab --> Full Power Off
My Axim X51v will still take a charge but no surprise wake-ups to start anything running and cause drain!
If the power switch is set to "Full Power Off" it gives you the choices: (1) A light press of the button will not give you the full power off thus allowing for a quick restart. (2) Pressing and holding the button will cause a notification pop-up warning of a complete Power Off and asking for confirmation before it happens (almost idiot proof).
A much better situation than the drained battery surprise that many users are complaining about??? "
