I think that another problem that Opera has (at least I have not found a way to go around it) is that you can't set it has your default browser. It does not work if you try to set Opera as the default application to open .htm and .html files. If you do that it just open Opera but it's not capable of handling the %1 OS variable.
I know that this is a problem that other are having because at least two people have asked me to check it but so far I have to admit that I have not found a way to go around this problem.
BTW, Opera does not use the registry to keep the settings in the registry, it uses INI files.
