3No idea, man. Are you rebooting in-between attempts? Have you tried AS 3.7? Have you checked the installation logs?

Try installing 4.X, reboot, then uninstall it, reboot, then delete those files, reboot, and try AS 3.7. If that works, try to upgrade from 3.7 to 3.8.

If that doesn't work, sorry man... I've got no clue.
